If you search “Obsidian” on Youtube, you will probably come across my free Obsidian for Beginners series. It’s just six videos. They have been helpful for a lot of people. The Youtube channel has now been viewed over one million times.

Since then, countless people have asked if I could do a course on Obsidian. I resisted for two reasons: I have prioritized the LYT Workshop, and other people already had made courses.

So I wasn’t really excited to add yet another course to the ecosystem if it wasn’t somehow…different. And it took a while for me to figure out what that difference would be.

But now I know...

I wanted to create a non-linear, choose-your-adventure training program where you get better at Obsidian by actually using Obsidian. That's why I created "Flight School".

Obsidian Flight School is an experience-driven approach to learning. It is an experiment in "curated but self-driven, non-linear education". That makes it a big risk.

What is Obsidian? 

Obsidian is a powerful knowledge base on top of a local folder of plain text Markdown files. You can learn more about it here.

What's your refund policy? 

This program includes the complete master vault which cannot be returned. As such, we are not able to offer refunds.

However, to prevent disappointment or dissatisfaction, we have two ways to ensure client fit and client success:

1) Prior to purchase you can review many free videos that will let you understand if the style of the instructor is a good fit for you.
‍
2) If after purchasing you are unhappy for any reason, please contact us and we will go to great lengths to solve problems and address any issues you experience. Let us know if you are having any problems at [email protected].

Are there any prerequisites before I buy this?

You should be able to use modern-day note applications. If you have only used Microsoft Word, this is may be too advanced for you. If you have used apps like Evernote or Notion, you should be fine.

What’s the difference between Obsidian Flight School and The LYT Workshop?

Obsidian Flight School only teaches you how to use a specific application called "Obsidian".

The Linking Your Thinking Workshop trains you to sustainably think better and create more value over your lifetime.

What kind of support will you offer when I face challenges in using this?

Flight School is a self-directed program, where the Vault will guide you through lessons and practical exercises. No direct instructor support is provided in the Flight School. Instead, you will be provided support videos and access to a community of peers where you can exchange experiences and seek support from.

How often will you be updating this with the new plugins or features in Obsidian?

Version 0.8 releases Nov 18th. Version 1.0 releases January 4th. After that, Updates will be ongoing but sporadic, and never scheduled too far in advance. Updates will mostly cover new features, plugins, and hotkeys.

What if my main device I use with Obsidian is a mobile device?

Flight School trains you to become faster and more confident in Obsidian.

But it was designed with a keyboard in mind. 
‍
If you are using a tablet like an iPad, try to have an external keyboard. That way, you will still be able to take advantage of the keyboard shortcuts.

If you are on a mobile device without a keyboard, you won't be able to achieve the same speeds, but you will still gain confidence.
